The Norton Simon Museum sits on 9.5 acres, is situated in an 85,000 squrare base structure and is situated in the wonderful town of Pasadena, California at 411 W. Colorado Blvd. right down the street from where the television cameras are set up annually for the Rose Parade. Consequently millions of people view the front of the museum every year as the Rose Parade is watched by them. What most of those readers do not know is that "The Norton Simon Museum of Art contains one of many world's finest and most prestigious private collections of European, American and Asian art." 

The collection, which includes works by van Gogh, Picasso, Rembrandt, Rodin and Fragonard contains over 1,000 works, including paintings, etchings (by Rembrandt, Goya, etc.), statues, photographs (Ansel Adams) and other methods comprising a period of time of over 2000 years. The museum also hosts classes, gallery discussions, family programs, musical performances, party performances, shows and trips. 

The public offers both personal tours and regular free public tours of their selection conducted by Museum Educators. 

The museum's shop includes a large collection of books on American, Asian and European art alongside prints, images, slides and paper goods in addition to books on photography, landscapes and architecture. 

The gallery is closed on Tuesdays, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving and Xmas. It is hours are 12:00 noon - 9:00pm on Fridays and 12:00 noon - 6:00pm other days. Admission fees are people $8.00, seniors $4.00 and people under 18 years of age, students with good id and public people free.
