It's well known that basketball was invented in 1891 by Dr. James Nesmith, but what is not well known is the history of women's basketball. The inaugural females university baseball period was really section of a education course at Smith College for girls in Conneticut. The 1st womens school baseball game occurred at Smith College for females in 1893 where the freshman played contrary to the sophomores. Unlike women college basketball games today, the overall game really occurred behind men and locked doors were prohibited from seeing. The rules of the first womens college baseball game were altered from those of the initial guys edition to enhance teamwork. The court had 3 locations and three people from each team of seven were allowed in each zone but couldn't re-locate of their zone. Interestingly enough, these early rules in the ladies school basketball game are strikingly like the game of netball that's played by women and schoolgirls all over Europe. Womens college basketball started to spread quickly and the first game between two different females college basketball teams was played in April 1896 with Stanford beating Berkley. There have been still 9 players on each womens school basketball team in this inter-college game but rather of keeping the original concept in which a player could only carry the ball for 3 seconds and should dribble it 3 moments before passing this was changed so that a player couldn't run over 5 feet before having to move the ball. Once more, but, as with the first womens college baseball game, men weren't allowed to watch the game. The conventional rules of women university baseball were first produced in 1901 and experienced numerous changes before developing to the game that's performed today. Among the best aspects of the early girls school basketball games is that the basket was sewn so that the umpire had to remove the ball from it each time shut it was subjected to the ring. The familiar indoor basketball courtroom that todays womens school basketball teams play on was not always made available to the women for a few decades after the activity began. Some womens college basketball groups had to play on grass courts outside and didn't have the chance to play on an internal court at all. [http://www.keauhouresort.com/about.html hawaiian hotels]
