[http://www.drruscio.com/ walnut creek functional medicine] Having appropriate speech is just one aspect of the The ten virtuous deeds: Refraining from the next twenty actions: 1) using life, 2) using what is perhaps not given 3) sexual misconduct, (which would be the three virtuous actions of body. ) 4) lying, 5) slander, 6) harsh speech 7) idle talk, (which would be the four virtuous actions of speech.) 8) jealousy, 9) ill will 10) holding wrong opinions (which would be the three virtuous acts of mind.) It is possible to "upgrade" our capacities through conscientious spiritual exercise along the graduated path to complete Enlightenment (Buddhahood) by increasing our Compassion and Wisdom. But, we should not pressure others to "upgrade" their capabilities. We should instead use skilful way to encourage them to spiritually grow beyond their present volume in good time. Often, others need more than this lifetime alone to "upgrade" their capabilities.
