新页面

Over the past year, I have had the debateable pleasure of getting two different printers: a laser printer and a copier and color inkjet printer. My laser printer gets a great work-out on an everyday basis, while I frequently reserve my color inkjet printer for photos.

Even though both units are well-crafted and carry brands (HP and Brother), they were incredibly inexpensive. In reality, one of the primary reasons I bought both was for their bargain prices. Picture my chagrin, then, when I'd to restore the toner cartridges in my laser and the ink cartridges within my inkjet, and found that each container cost about half of what I paid for the printer.

I quickly - and properly - surmised that printer manufacturers provide units at or below the expense of making them, and generate earnings from the sale of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) printer cartridges. With dire warnings of possible harm to the printer or voiding the printer guarantee, the manufacturers insist that customers purchase only OEM printer cartridges. I resented being gouged by their inflated prices, and therefore did a number of my own, personal research about OEM print tubes and alternatives. Here's what I discovered:

Option One: Compatible Ink Tubes

Unlike popular opinion, compatible printer cartridges are not recycled. Instead, they're completely new, simple versions of OEM cartridges. They have all of the quality and reliability of OEM cartridges, but cost merely a portion of the price.

Alternative Two: Remanufactured Print Tubes

Because the name suggests, remanufactured ink cartridges are, indeed, recycled. However, the old cartridges aren't just refilled. Instead, they're disassembled, inspected, cleaned, reassembled, filled with ink, and independently print tried to generally meet or surpass the specifications associated with OEM ink cartridges.

Cost Benefits

I was surprised when I found the cost differences between OEM, suitable, and remanufactured printer cartridges. For instance, one black and one colour ink cartridge for an HP DeskJet 920C may charge 50.45 for the OEM cartridges, but only 16.95 for remanufactured cartridges. A bunch of four ink cartridges (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow) for the Brother DCP117C might cost 31.80 for OEM, but only 8.95 for the compatible model. Within the time of a printer, these types of savings really accumulate!

Capsule Life

Typically, remanufactured printer cartridges have a smaller "shelf life" than OEM or appropriate cartridges. A remanufactured cartridge will be good for about half a year, while a suitable cartridge is vacuum-sealed and will be viable for years.

Manufacturers

I also discovered that it's very important to buy appropriate and remanufactured tattoo cartridges from the reliable supplier. Provides free UK supply, and doesn't need a minimum order, when shopping on the internet, look for a supplier that uses top-quality ink, has been in business many years.
