Chest Augmentation and Breast Cancer

At age 49 my mother was clinically determined to have breast cancer, which is certainly an entire surprise to any girl. We are a family filled with women who, until now, had no family history of the disease.According to the CDC, irrespective of non-melanoma skin cancer, cancer of the breast is the most common cancer among women in the Usa. Research say that about 1 in 8 American girls will develop invasive breast cancer within her lifetime. There have been about 230,500 new cases identified in 2011 within the U.S. On a confident note, from 1999 to 2005 these diagnosis rates have reduced by nearly 2% every year. Unfortunately, medical data predicted not quite 40,000 U.S. women to die in 2011 from breast cancer; however, this number is down in recent years as a result of early in the day recognition, higher level treatments and improved awareness.My mom, a registered nurse, took matters into her very own hands. She was focused on monthly self-breast exams and found her own lump. After visiting 3 medical practioners, my mother finally found a physician willing to pay attention to her concerns, perform a biopsy and diagnose her cancer. The cancerous cells were only found in one breast; contrary to the doctor's wishes, Mom selected a double mastectomy. I appreciate her strength and now believe that due to her confidence and positive attitude through it all, I would choose the same.In August 2005 Mom experienced a double mastectomy to eliminate both of her breasts. The doctor then pulled the skin from above and below her breasts to cover her chest area. I will be honest that her recovery out of this surgery was very hard and extremely painful. She'd pipes positioned underneath her skin that had to be changed often. Ultimately after healing she decided to meet up with a cosmetic surgeon who specialized in facelift article mastectomy surgery.Breast augmentation surgery uses implants to revive breast quantity or volume. This is a common practice after having a lumpectomy or mastectomy. For a woman, it's ways to feel normal again after this type of devastating loss. For my mom, it permitted her to feel like she'd an elegant form and body again. Today as a 50 year-old woman she still seems confident enough to wear a swimsuit. Plastic surgery can sometimes be connected with mirror, but in the case of girl who has lost one or both breasts due to cancer, I really believe this is a fair cause to undergo augmentation.There were a lot more than 2.6 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. This past year, my own personal mother being one. She is now 6 years cancer-free, a massive advocate for the cause and prepared to reveal her story everyday.
