My closest friend has got the spiritual gift of prophecy. I might need certainly to explain that a Christian prophecy doesnt have much to do with foretelling the long run, while God can grant that if He wishes. It's far more to do with seeing the power of God at the office on earth, envisioning the spiritual struggles that rage all over, and with communicating the remarkable power and meaning of God to His people.

Among the lessons that I teach around Christian goal setting techniques centers around Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord and he'll give the desires to you of one's heart. I believe that our dreams are our deepest values, the sacred touchstones that God made in each one of us. One folks values and deepest needs may be support, concern, family; anothers may be beauty, leadership, security; still anothers may be freedom, growth, meaning. Although inside our sin we can attempt to live them out badly, we all have them! But God created the values within each individual, and He firmly tied the satisfaction of our values to the relationship with Him. My friends religious gift and my training were brought together the other day. I was having lunch with my friend and she stated that she had been given a word from God. It had to do with hope in a financial situation, but it didnt appear to apply to her. Maybe it absolutely was for me? She said the message: Be obedient and I will give the desires to you of one's heart

The amazing part? I had never mentioned my teaching on needs of one's heart to her before, and she didnt know the verse from Psalms. She did not know the word in her own intelligence.
