Two methods are left open to us -- the way of the ignorant, who think that there is just one way to truth and that all the rest are incorrect, and the way of the wise, who acknowledge that, according to our mental constitution or different planes of existence in which we are,duty and morality can vary. The main thing is always to know that there are gradations of duty and of morality -- that the duty of one state of life,in one set of conditions, won't and can't be that of another.

To illustrate: All great teachers have taught, "Resist maybe not evil," that non - opposition could be the highest moral ideal. We all know that, if your certain amount of us attempted to put that maxim fully into practice, the entire social fabric would drop to pieces, the wicked would take control of our qualities and our lives, and would do whatever they as with us.
