With US residential real estate generally at a, 2006 and the initial half 2007 have which may be described as a very dynamic time for downtown Clearwater, Florida. Many private and public developments have gotten off the floor.

Throughout 2006, two important mixed use property developments broke surface and are now well on the way. Situated on Clearwaters wonderful bluff, over looking the breath-taking intercoastal waterway is Waters Edge. Manufactured by Opus South, Waters Edge is just a 153 product combined use property with around 10,000 SF of retail space. Later in 2010 It's planned for completion.

Also in 2006, the lavish Station Square broke surface. Located in downtown Clearwater, next to downtowns old postoffice, Station Square is really a mixed use residential growth comprising 126 units, including 16 penthouse units. The developer of Station Square is the globally renowned developer from Australia, Felix Anon.

In July, 2006, the City of Clearwater began construction of the beautiful $9.3 million streetscape task. With the initial section complete (exclusive of landscaping), the 2nd section is schedule for completion June 15, 2007. The final and last part is scheduled for completion by the end of the season. All gardening is going to be completed if the extensive street work is complete. You can see at the moment exactly what a wonderful effect streetscape may have on downtown Clearwater.

There is much going on during 2007 as well. Building has started on the Clearwater Centre growth which will be located at 600 Cleveland Street. This 71 product substantial rise residential development, which will have a retail component as well, will provide a great deal of enthusiasm and energy to this part of downtown.

Triangle Development desires to break ground on their wonderful mixed use residential growth, Island View, based on North Ft. Harrison over looking Clearwaters intercoastal waterway. The very first stage contains 109 luxurious units and many potential citizens have previously contracted to get their future home.

In July 2007 development will start what'll be downtown Clearwaters only important hotel, Residence Inn by Marriott. The developer is Clarkson Group, a Marriott franchisee located in Jacksonville. In March, the people of Clearwater voted to allow the City to construct 129 boat slips along the intercoastal waterway, at the base of Cleveland Street.
