The preeminent show of the 1990's decade, Seinfeld grew from a notion of "a show about nothing" in to a sacred pop culture icon - not that there is any such thing wrong with that... The show uses the life span of comic Jerry Seinfeld and the uses of his short, cool, bald man closest friend, George Costanza (Jason Alexander), Jerrys neurotic friend Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards), and Jerrys ex-girlfriend Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). Over time, theyre joined by a loveable cast of characters that features Newman, Uncle Leo, the Soup Nazi, Frank and Estelle Costanza, the Bubble Boy, and countless others

The very first glimpse is offered by the Seinfeld DVD ( Seasons 1 & 2 ) in to the world Jerry, beginning with The Pilot (episode 1) that was originally called The Seinfeld Chronicles. The first scene requires Jerry commenting to George in regards to a button on his shirt (the same discussion later happens in the last scene of the series ending). These opening episodes give insight to the growth of the shows four main characters with conversations that range from Georges preliminary admission that hed like to be an architect (episode 2) to Kramers inclination for get rich quick schemes like a pizzeria (episode 4). From day one, Seinfeld established it self as must see TELEVISION, creating such unique symptoms as The Pony Remark, The Stock Tip, The Deal, and The Chinese Restaurant.

Apparently, in the pilot bout of Seinfeld, Elaines character doesn't yet exist, and Kramers character (not yet called Kramer, but Feldman) is more of an unemployed, horrible, shut-in friend compared to a quirky and lively Cosmo. Playing the part of the feminine in George and Jerrys life is just a wisecracking server called Claire (Lee Garlington) who never appears in later episodes.

Nevertheless, this initial episode displays the flashes of brilliance that made Seinfeld a cultural phenomenon. The show is basically about nothing. Jerry and George do some laundry Jerry and his neighbor watch some TV George and Jerry have some coffee During that time, the principal subject of conversation is just a girl that Jerry met while using his comedy act on the highway. Shes coming to stay at his place, but he doesnt know whether he should pull out a mattress on her behalf or not. Feldman (Kramer), George, and Jerry debate this issue constantly before the girl comes and Jerry finds that its all unnecessary because shes employed
