If you operate and own a dental practice, then naturally you want more new people. And you have probably also learned about Social Networking. Properly, it just so happens you may want to be weary of it.Let me explain:I know I'm likely to get yourself a large amount of flack because of this article.But I don't care.I have had enough.And I have decided to present a giant fantasy about Social Media (aka SM ).But before I start, let me say that I actually like Social Media. So just why then am I going to grab Social Media Marketing a new one? Since SM is being incurred as "the ultimate goal of marketing."When it's plainly not.Let me make my point by running through a few other beliefs:Remember the Dr. Atkins diet craze?When almost everyone thought all they had to do was consume fat and protein (and no CARBS) and they'd magically get small and toned? Well, did in addition, you realize that Dr. Atkins died a few years back? And many individuals think he kicked the bucket from the coronary attack the effect of a diet high in fat and protein.Who had of guessed?Or how about Y2K?Remember this 1? When all the alleged "experts" mentioned that as soon as the year 2,000 rolled around, the whole world could explode into bits and pieces?Or how about when people swore the world was flat, and that if you sailed your ship beyond the waters of Europe, you'd drop off the face of the Earth?Look, the position here is to be tired of well-known beliefs.Anytime something is billed whilst the answer to all of your problems... then nine instances out of then anything ain't right.Social Media falls into that category too.In truth, my dilemma with Social Media is that you can spend a great deal of time facing your computer... and... have nothing to show for it.Does that mean you should steer clear of it?No, I like SM.But only if you recall one thing:It is just one resource in your toolbox.Which suggests the question:Along with SM, what different marketing campaigns are you using to push your business?Direct mail?Email marketing?AdWords campaigns?Video marketing?Please tell me you're putting your marketing eggs in more than just the Social Media basket?Are you?I hope so because there's so much "online noise" coming at your prospects, putting your entire marketing eggs in to the SM holder isn't recommended.
