I decided to make a large stained glass window in our family room. Since I was younger, I loved the appearance of stained glass when the light catches it and I have always wanted it in my own home when I could afford it. After taking a few soldering courses I felt confident enough to make my very own stained glass window. I had all the products I needed, liquid flux no clean, soldering flux pen, lead solder wire and soldering iron wire. I planned on putting copper foil on it as well to make it look a little like a Tiffany lamp. My household was amazed by the amount of idea I have put into the project but by remaining focused and taking note of each information I was sure I might make something gorgeous. It started out promising. I was able to select the ideal glass pieces and was able to fit every little thing together so it was only a matter of putting it together. The first thing that failed was that I used silver soldering wire at first. This caused everything to look a little off and the metal did not all match. I figured it wouldn't matter since I would put copper all over it so I continued. Then it got too hot and the glass began cracking. I paused at this point to not get disappointed. I was so surprised that I was having such a difficult time. When I went back to it I attempted using a various kind of solder liquid flux. The solder was still breaking the glass and after I had ripped through half of my glass I decided it was time to get imaginative. I started making a brand new collage of the glass and tried to make it beautiful. After days of work I finally made it work. I focused on each little piece of glass and was able to finally put it together. It was abstract and did not have any pattern to it but I thought it was a distinct piece that would work completely in our family room. Once everything was set I finally was confident enough to put it in our window. Our living room has a big box window that was ideal for a stained glass window in the center. I very carefully took out the main pane and replaced it with the stained glass pane. I stood back and the sun shone through all the lively colors. Regretfully, my partner and children were away on a camping trip so I had to wait and see exactly what they thought in a couple of days. Until then I gazed at the window throughout warm afternoons or in the morning as I enjoyed my morning coffee while making thinking about the hard work I had done. When my family got back I could barely wait to reveal them my work. My partner and children went to see it and stared at it for about a minute. I looked at them, worried, and asked them they thought. My 14-year-old son looks at me and eloquently says, "Mom, it sort of looks like Seth Rogen." kester 951 flux pen
