Traveling with children means quite a bit of planning. Things you need to think about when going on vacation include age appropriate activities, nap and/or rest time for the toddlers, transportation to and from the hotel or vacation home/condo and, of course, cost. The devil is in the details, especially when traveling, so pay close attention to the desires of your family compared to the activities available in the Sunshine State.

Here are four popular things to do for families going to Florida. You can find a terrific video with much more info at Florida Excursions.

Disney parks are among the most popular destinations for families and one of the main reasons many families plan a vacation in the state. There is much more to do at the park than a one day trip can cover; it#&39;s suggested that families have two or three days to explore the theme park, take in the rides, and enjoy the attractions that are based on much loved Disney Movies. For kids, Space Mountain and Splash Mountain are always fun. Book early and take advantage of sales to save the budget while traveling to the Magic Kingdom in Orlando.

Jungle Island, which is located in Miami, houses a number of animals that entertain and also has an overhead that is filled with a great variety of colorful bird species. Kids may enjoy features such as tortoise displays, natural habitats, and birds that ride bikes. Hundreds of birds grace the sky for the children to admire and many other animals are on display to delight to each member of the family. It#&39;s one of the little known attractions for families planning a vacation to Florida, but it is one that should not be missed.

Sea World should be included in any trip to the state. Here the children enjoy a marine themed adventure park where they are able to see orcas, dolphins, polar bears, penguins, stingrays and much more. The older kids may enjoy interactive shows or choose to take part in experiences that create memories of a lifetime. Parents interested in booking experiences through the park should do so early, as they do fill quickly and require registration ahead of time. The aquatic park also includes rides and roller coasters with many available for younger children.

When families include older kids, Busch Gardens is a great option. This park offers some of the largest roller coasters in the country along with a display of African themed entertainment. This park will require most of the day and there are several terrific shows. For younger kids, you might wish to consider bringing your own lightweight stroller as they can be very expensive to rent on-site.

Planning a Florida vacation with the family doesn#&39;t have to break the bank. One of the best advantages that you can gain by planning in advance is the ability to find significant discounts and valuable promotional offers. Preplanning helps families save up to 40% off of the regular cost of tickets to popular attractions in Florida.
