Sukhumvit Road can be viewed as the "main drag" in Bangkok. A six-lane road, with a divider and an overhead train, it is a tourist's dream or a tourist's nightmare.

You will find many reasonable restaurants across the street presenting Thai, Italian, American, and many other nations' food. And, naturally, you can find tons of food vendors hawking their soups, noodles, and rice.

The principle touristy area of Sukhumvit runs from Soi 1 to Soi 33. You can travel to go-go bars on Soi 4, alcohol bars on Soi 1, and an assortment bars on Soi Cowboy or Soi 33. There are always a few expatriate hang-outs in and around Soi 22.

You will also run into the girls of the night offering their wares and you may even run into some third genderites that may be after your wallet. Be careful.

Going down a few of the part Sois, you will find custom shops, activities bars, numerous hotels, beauty and massage parlors, and shops of all sizes and shapes.

Sukhumvit Road has everything. You are able to shop, eat, drink and be entertained and get it done all just walking on.

And just away from Sukhumvit Road are two of probably the most popular amusement venues for tourists in Bangkok. On Sukhumvit and Soi 4 is Nana Entertainment Plaza (NEP), three reports of bars in a U-shaped world. From beer bars to go-go's and one-on the next floor that is for your sex questioned restaurants .

Further up Sukhumvit, between Soi 21 and Soi 2-3 is Soi Cowboy. This road has existed since the 1970's and serves mainly the expats in the area, but more and more tourists have discovered it. There are various little go-go bars and lots of pretty girls on-the street attempting to lure one to come in their bar.
