Banff

One of the most beloved vacation destinations in Canada could be the Banff and Lake Louise area located in the  province of Alberta. Town of Banff is the Banff National Park, a World Heritage site and is 90 minutes (75 miles) west of Calgary. Considering that the Banff area reaches the western edge of the Canadian Rocky Mountain range It's possible to see the Rocky Mountains from Calgary. One thing for beef fans isn't to skip  the Alberta perfect rib here that is a local specialty. It  almost melts in your mouth. Some restaurants serve very good 24 ounce (or  more) amounts called mountain cuts for individuals who think they are able to eat all of it. 

There are numerous actions  through the non-winter periods including fishing, horse riding, climbing, tennis and a  hot springs spa heated obviously from the mountain. The wonderful mountain scenery just makes these  actions appear that a whole lot more special here. Imagine golfing with views of  hills in the background and glimpses of elk. Of course, the winters possess the skiing  and snowboarding but there are other winter activities such as dog sledding and snowmobile  tours. Lake Louise is approximately 45 minutes (35 miles) further to the mountain range and home to one of the greatest ski areas in North  America. Even for non-skiers, a tour to Lake Louise is crucial.  The greatest resort there, the Chateau Lake Louise, is right next to the beautiful Lake Louise it-self. There's a glacier named Victoria Glacier which can be situated  between snow capped mountains. All through the winters, the lake is totally frozen and people can  go right across it. The hotel frequently creates a skating place to the river.  Throughout the summers, you can still see a number of the white snow capped mountains combined with the glacier but what makes things really special may be the sea itself too which will be an emerald green color. On certain days and hours, the river gives a  reflection of-the mountain/glacier scene. This combination provides among the most wonderful and photographed scenes in Canada. No motorized boats are allowed in  the lake but there are canoe rentals available. Going for a canoe across the lake while seeing the glacier and mountain range is one of the very special, peaceful  actions one may do.

You will find wildlife recognizing  tours available but everytime I've traveled to the area, I've seen deer and elk over the streets and streets. I have also seen them wander  directly into the front of the Banff Springs resort. The street that leads up to the Norquay  Mystic Ridge ski resort just outside of Banff is a wonderful spot for wildlife. On every drive up that  particular street whether during the cold weather or summer, I have always seen  fluorescent horned mountain goats. Many are very much accustomed to cars that they would just move  away for vehicles to get by but would still stick to the roads. That makes great photo  opportunities. 

One thing to be cautious of specially when walking is the probabilities of bears. During the  months, pay attention to the area rangers who provide reports of bear sightings since it is not recommended to be on trails where bears have been. 

Many world travelers think of Canada as a land of great natural scenery and although the state is  much more than that, the Lake Louise area and Banff is most likely one of  the most effective illustrations of Canadian natural beauty read this . It's a location that brings visitors, dangerous and Canadians alike, back to  the region like it does for me every few years.
