In this essay I write about some of the most famous British sporting events which happen on an annual basis. My name is Steve Hill from Birmingham and I love to watch many sports especially baseball, golf, snooker, horse racing and cricket.

I am currently excited to the Fifa World Cup and the winter cricket Ashes trip to Australia. These are sporting events which aren't played on an basis but are every four years according of the soccer world cup and generally every two years for the ashes line.

Horse racing has two significant sporting events in its the Derby, the Grand National and yearly calender. As it is commonly packed full of incidents as it's a jumping race the Grand National has to be my favorite out of those two and there is far more of a chance for the outsiders in the race. There is generally forty horses in this race which itself makes it a thrilling race and vision. The competition takes place at Aintree that is operating out of Liverpool.

The Derby can be famous throughout the world and is really a flat race. That race which is run over the Epsom downs racecourse and features a number of the best racehorses from around the world.

The FA Cup of soccer is one of my favorite sports of the year. Some people may believe that it has lost some of its glamour recently but I would need to differ. This year for example certainly one of the so called reduced groups in West Ham United managed to achieve the final and were for me very unfortunate never to get the prize. It has to be said however that in this cup does be normally won by general one of the big four teams, these teams are Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

The British Grand Prix in formula one is yet another great event from the British sporting calender. This out of all of the activities that I'm going to come up with might be my least favorite, but is still worth a view even for someone like myself who's not quite an engine racing fan. In years gone by when people such as for instance Nigel Mansell were rushing this event was much more fascinating. Today without any serious British competitors, it's in my own eyes lost part of its charm. I'm sure however that numerous other true engine activity observers would disagree with me.

The Wimbledon Tennis Championships are often of interest to someone like myself as I love to not only watch this game but I also love to play the peculiar game of golf as well. During the last a decade Tim Henman has given the Brits something to shout about and he has devote some stirling tasks underneath the maximum amount of pressure. It's an excellent pity he couldn't quite manage to get all the way and win the match. With a new kid on the block in the form of Andrew Murray, this event will continue steadily to offer thrills and spills for British football fans.

In tennis there's the British Open. This competition isn't as exciting as The Ryder Cup which takes place every two years but it is still very exciting to view and there is often a live prospect of a British winner. As I think he's due some major tournament wins be cautious about a young golfer called Luke Donald on the next few years.
