Sell Anything on the Internet

I've been messing with computers since the introduction of the Commodore 64 and have been on the Internet since Windows 95 was released. I know I'm dating myself, but who cares. I've got some real world experiences to share is all that really means. If you are familiar with my story you recognize that I know what I'm referring to ... otherwise, go visit my blog site at http://internettrafficpapa.com. Anyway, there has been some phenomenal growth in technology and skills in relation to the computer industry en masse and I think there are lots of people that believe the basic laws of how to sell anything online have somehow changed right together with it.

What do I mean by that? I have an Internet marketing company I operate from my home that generally is composed of blogging, writing and posting articles along with social networking. I find there are numerous people globally doing (or think they're doing) the same thing. To put it gently ... What are they thinking ?! I see hundreds of articles and blogs that have absolutely no story, no passion, no personality whatsoever. I know from a lifetime of offline sales ... you can't sell anything like that. Why is that? Well I think because by telling you what you must do without doing it myself, or worse yet, trying to get you to swear by something that I don't even believe in protests all unwritten laws of the universe, and certainly against anything I've ever experienced in sales.

Can anybody sell anything?

Have you ever heard Joel Olsteen? I love the guy! You don't even need to be religious or a Christian to love to listen to him. Why? because he lived or lives what he preaches and believes wholehearted in everything he says and does. Then he shares real world stories to demonstrate why he believes and how it worked for him. How about Tony Robbins ... ever hear or see him get going? Do you think either of these guys could write a few articles or blogs and move you into action? I bet they could move about anybody on earth or sell anything to anybody. So how do you think the guys and girls are doing with their articles that start with "What you need to do" or What you must have" for them to make money, or to secure a date, or to have a happy teenager? I suspect they are still spinning their wheels in their marketing efforts.

Alternatively, what would happen if they overcame some challenges, obstacles, tragedies, and even traumas and emerged victorious? I'm thinking with that experience they 'd work up a little passion and produce a story that started a little more like "This is where I was" followed by "This is what I went through" and then by "This is how it turned out". Those articles and blogs move people and provide real information that adds value to lives. Maybe it's just me ... but the how without the why doesn't cut it for me without a story, some passion, or at minimum a little personality. They could even stand to throw a little of attitude into it ... provided it's a "good" attitude ha-ha!

Sell anything ... with PASSION!

My point here is, if you intend to learn anything about Internet marketing and/or ways to sell anything on the net ... get your guidance and information from those that are doing it successfully. You'll know it when you see it, hear it, or read it. The laws of the universe or ways to sell anything haven't changed at all, just our ways of communicating our messages. And if you're trying to market or sell anything online, do it with passion and believe in it yourself ... there is way too much cyber garbage floating around out there already. Somebody please take out the trash:).
