Since SM is being incurred as 'the holy grail of marketing.'When it's obviously not.Let me make my point by working via a few other beliefs:Remember the Dr. Atkins diet craze?When just about everyone thought all they'd to do was eat fat and protein (and no CARBS) and they'd magically get tight and toned? Well, did you also realize that Dr. Atkins died a couple of years back? And many individuals feel he kicked the bucket from a coronary arrest the result of a diet high in fat and protein.Who had of guessed?Or what about Y2K?Remember this 1? When all the so-called 'specialists' said that as soon as the year 2,000 rolled around, the entire world would explode into bits and pieces?Or think about when individuals swore the world was flat, and that if you sailed your ship beyond the waters of Europe, you'd fall off the experience of the Earth?Look, the point here is to be careful of popular beliefs.Anytime something is incurred whilst the answer to all of your problems... then nine times out of then something ain't right.Social Media falls into that class too.In fact, my issue with Social Media is that it is possible to spend a whole lot of time facing your computer... and... have nothing to exhibit for it.Does which means that you should stay away from it?No, I like SM.But only if you recall one thing:It is just one tool within your toolbox.Which begs the question:Along with SM, what other marketing campaigns are you using to push your business?Direct mail?Email marketing?AdWords campaigns?Video marketing?Please tell me you're putting your marketing eggs in more than just the Social Media basket?Are you?I hope so because there is so much 'on-line sound' coming at your prospects, putting all your marketing eggs into the SM basket isn't recommended.
