Philip Rivers was born on December 8, 1981 in Decatur, Alabama. Waters is certainly one of the best young quarterbacks in the world, and he's confirmed this time and time again on the subject. Not only does he have most of the physical resources needed with a good quarterback, but he's also among the better participants in the overall game as well. Once you combine those two things it's easy to see why he'll be a great player in the NFL for several years ahead.

Streams visited Athens High School, and excelled both in the class room and on the football field. As a he played both security and quarterback, and this resulted in him being named the Alabama Football Player of the Entire Year.

After high school Rivers thought we would simply take his game to New York State University. During his days playing for the Wolfpack, Rivers broke just about any school and meeting report. Perhaps his best record is that for many games started by a college quarterback with 51. This not merely showed his consistency, but in addition his determination to lead his team game in and game out. Rivers led the Wolfpack to four bowl games, and came house or apartment with wins in three of them.

Rivers was drafted by the Newest York Giants with the fourth pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. Briefly afterwards he was traded to the San Diego Chargers for other quarterback Eli Manning. Following a bit of a delay, Rivers finally signed a year deal worth $40.5 million.

During the 2004 year Rivers saw limited action, appearing in only two games. he was not ready to beat out Drew Brees for the starting quarterback position the 2005 time was more of the same.

Waters was eventually named the starting quarterback in 2006 after Brees departed for New Orleans. During his first time as a full time solid numbers are put up by starter Rivers. He did a very good job handling the overall game that was evident by the Chargers 14-2 record, and AFC West Championship.
