The stock bpv is dark in color, built of plastic can can be observed on a Mazda right at the cold tube on the stock TMIC1) Have a pair of pliers and eliminate the recirc hose on the back-of the valve (huge 23mm hose). Simple place the device straight back onto the BPV flange and retighten it. Now word-of warning here.. Should you be using an TMIC, I strongly recommend using a ratchet expansion with a 10mm deep well outlet handy tighten both screws evenly. Give one good 1/4 inch prank on both bolts, once they are hand small and that's it. They scarcely demand much torque and we keep reading about Hercules breaking off his products within the cold tube o-r burning the threads.Once you got it torqued back, only join both tubes and take it out for a drive. I seriously doubt you'll have to make any corrections to-the valve, but when you do, keep reading.Adjustment:Adjusting this valve is just a no brainer. Simple place a 13mm open-end wrench onto the jam nut located on top where the vac line attaches, then take a 4mm allen/bit and move clockwise to increase spring pressure ( increase the chance of compressor surge / vent slower ) or counter-clockwide to decrease spring force ( decrease the chance of compressor surge / vent faster ).Now a term to-the wise for you personally noobs.. Growing the spring tension here doesn't raise the number of increase this valve can hold. If you wish to keep more raise, an alternative spring should be fitted in this valve.Maintenance:It is recommended that each time you modify your oil you inspect your COBB Tuning Bypass Valve to ensure the piston remains moving freely. You certainly can do so by unbolting the BPV from your vehicle mounting flange and moving on-the piston. For a long time I was owning a Forge Valve that had a 2 shims and spring. It gave me issues with no shims, it also gave me issues with a shim. It was 75% on I hold-all of my boost all through move, mark with 2 shims.With the Cobb XLE and its noisy, meaning people know you're on the boost.
