The Advantages Of Artistic Obscurity

When I was small I had a dilemma; was I planning to be an artist, which was my natural desire? Or, was I going to be described as a musician, which was my interest? I really could not reconcile the two. But Disney re-released Fantasia and annually later The Beatles released Yellow Submarine and I suddenly and wonderfully recognized that art and music, through the medium of animated film, were a match made in heaven.Over the next forty-five years I employed my love of music, particularly Rock & Roll, as my bumanglag examples  muse. I have painted the lyrics of Classic Rock tunes as acrylic paintings, I have shown song lyrics in comic book form and I've developed completely animated music videos.Because of the trouble involved with these efforts and the time they took to produce when I only had my friends and other group members to help out rather than a group of professional full time business workers, my innovative result is really a portion of what it may have been if this was my full time work. The fact that I could only work on these projects when my day job in the animation business offered me the time off and then I had only my unemployment check with which to fund them meant that a project that must have taken weeks actually got years.Although I lament the CDs of my original songs that never got recorded, the lively pants and music videos that never got produced or the pictures that exists only in my mind, I realize that when, and if, the world ever does get to know me through my artistic vision it will know the me that I need it to see. I have forty-five years of material where I may provide only the best for public consumption. I would have been expected to created a certain amount of product each and annually if I had been signed to accurate documentation contract or even a film studio contract and release that product for the public. People would see everything I did, as I did it. I'd not have the luxury of determining something was sub-par and waste it before anyone saw it.We all have old photographs that depict us sometimes within our lives that we now find embarrassing and wouldn't want anyone else to see. We have the option of pulling those previous snapshots out of the picture album and bringing them up however when teams of individuals have been settled with a company to help you create those pictures they're not yours to ruin. Like what you've completed or not, you have to face the music. Number of us driven performers have ever stopped to ponder this.Sooner or later, if you repeatedly generate and generate your art, the focus of people will check over to you and you'll get being asked; 'Ok, it's your turn. What have you got to demonstrate us?'When that happens, if you have the material ready you'll be able to maintain that spotlight and get your fifteen minutes of fame. The key is being able to keep throwing material into the light to keep it from walking down, bored and trying to find the next Big Thing.Luck is the mixture of opportunity and preparedness. If you're prepared by having product, being practiced and having options for future services and products when opportunity knocks you'll prepare yourself to answer and if you have modified your projects properly people is likely to be shocked they have never heard about you before now. If not, and you respond to chance knocking in your door by answering; 'I'm not ready, come back later.' You've forfeited your submit the spotlight which might never return.
