The Large Myth About Social Media And Dentist Marketing
If you own and run a dental practice, then obviously you want more new individuals. And you've probably also learned about Social Media. Well, it just so happens you may want to be careful of it.Let me explain:I realize I am going to obtain a lot of flack with this article.But I do not care.I have had enough.And I've made a decision to present a huge fantasy about Social Media (aka SM ).But before I begin, let me state that I really like Social Media. So why then am I planning to tear Social Media a new one? Because SM is being billed as 'the ultimate goal of marketing.'When it is clearly not.Let me make my position by working through a few other beliefs:Remember the Dr. Atkins diet craze?When just about everybody believed all they'd to complete was eat fat and protein (and no CARBOHYDRATES) and they'd magically get tight and toned? Well, did in addition you understand that Dr. Atkins died a few years back? And lots of people think he kicked the bucket from a heart attack the result of a diet saturated in fat and protein.Who had of guessed?Or what about Y2K?Remember that one? When all the alleged 'professionals' said that as soon as the year 2,000 rolled around, the whole world would burst into parts and pieces?Or how about when people swore the world was flat, and that if you sailed your vessel beyond the waters of Europe, you had fall off the face of the Earth?Look, the position here is to be tired of well-known beliefs.Anytime anything is charged because the answer to all of your problems... then nine instances out of then anything ain't right.Social Media falls in to that class too.In fact, my difficulty with Social Media is that you are able to spend a good deal of time in front of your computer... and... have nothing to show for it.Does which means that you should stay away from it?No, I like SM.But as long as you remember one thing:It is just one tool in-your toolbox.Which begs the question:Along with SM, what different marketing campaigns are you using to get your business?Direct mail?Email marketing?AdWords campaigns?Video marketing?Please tell me you're putting your marketing eggs in significantly more than just the Social Media basket?Are you?I hope so because there's so much 'online noise' returning at your prospects, putting all your marketing eggs to the SM basket isn't advisable.
